The Tift County Touchdown Club is offering the
“Blue Book”. The “Blue Book” is a program/media
guide to Blue Devil Football. At each home
game, the “Blue Book” will feature an update on
the season and give an in depth review of that
weeks opponent. The “Blue Book” will also
include our current ’06-’07 football roster,
schedule and historical write-ups about Tift
County Football. We anticipate the front cover
to be the senior Blue Devils and the back cover
to be the senior cheerleaders.
We
have four different levels for sponsorship, ⅛,
¼, ½ and 1 full page ads to spotlight your
business or a particular football player or
cheerleader.
The 2006 season is the 40th
anniversary of our stadium. We are spotlighting
one game from each decade. An in depth review of
each of these games will be included in the
“Blue Book”. The following is a list of those
games:
1966 – The first game at our stadium. Tift Co.
played Moultrie, which was ranked #1 in the
state, and the Blue Devils defeated Moultrie
19-14.
1979 – Tift Co. defeated Valdosta, 24-6, to win
the Region 1 AAAA championship. This game was
also the 2nd time that year that the
Blue Devils defeated Valdosta.
1983 – Tift Co. defeated Benedictine in the
state playoffs, 7-6. This victory propelled the
Blue Devils further into the playoffs in which
the Blue Devils eventually won the STATE
CHAMPIONSHIP.
1997- Tift Co. defeated Northside Warner Robins
14-6 in the state playoffs which gave the Blue
Devils the 1st and only trip to the
Georgia Dome.
2004 – Tift Co. defeated Valdosta, 34-2. This
was the first victory over Valdosta at home
since the memorable game in 1979. This was also
the first time ever that the mercy rule was
applied against the Valdosta Wildcats.

“Blue Book”.
